Why we like it
The architect built it for himself, then changed his mind. Every line of sight is sea. The kitchen is the warmest room in any house we have stayed in. Walk to harbour in 8 minutes downhill (taxi back).
Frequently asked questions
Is Kalkan good for families?
Yes — once you are in the villa, the children stay in the villa. The town has restaurants but no nightclubs and no roads through it. The harbour beach is small and pebbly; we recommend a boat day to Patara for sand.
Do you provide transfers?
Yes. Dalaman airport is 1h45m. We meet you with bottled water, a SIM card and the villa manager's WhatsApp.
Can the chef cook for special diets?
Vegetarian and gluten-free, easily. Vegan with three days notice. Halal as standard. Kosher available with notice.
Is the pool fenced?
There is a child-safe gate at the upper terrace. The pool itself is not fenced (Turkish villas rarely are) so children must be supervised.
