Gocek
A pine-protected marina, gateway to the 12 Islands
Gocek (pronounced ger-jek) is the prettiest marina town on the Turkish Riviera and the launch point for the 12 Islands gulet cruise — the most romantic three-day boat trip in the Mediterranean.
Just twenty-five minutes east of Dalaman airport but feeling a world away, Gocek is a sleepy waterfront village under a strict 1988 conservation order that limits buildings to two storeys and forbids large hotels. Five separate marinas hold over a thousand yachts in season, the back streets are lined with deli-style restaurants and design boutiques, and a single coast road runs through pine forest to a string of private bays. We send couples chartering a gulet, second-honeymooners, and quiet British clients who want a no-fuss boutique base.
The five experiences that make a Gocek trip unforgettable
The 12 Islands cruise
A daily £30 day-boat or a 3-day private gulet (from £1,950 for six guests) loops Tersane, Yassica, Domuz and Hammam islands with swim stops in lagoons impossible to reach by road.
Five marinas, one thousand yachts
D-Marin, Skopea, Club Marina, Village Port and Municipal — Gocek is the busiest yacht haven on the Turkish coast and the prettiest place in Turkey to walk along jetties at sunset.
Sleeping under the conservation order
No buildings over two storeys; design hotels like A&B Home, Yonca Resort and Diamond of Bodrum sit hidden in pine forest and almost every room has a sea view.
Gateway to Dalyan and Fethiye
Day trips to Saklikent Gorge, Tlos and Kayakoy ghost-village run from Gocek; you can also boat-day to Olu Deniz Blue Lagoon.
The right month makes the trip
Ideal: May, June, September and October
Gocek Bay is sheltered by Sariyer Mountain and stays calm even when the open Aegean is rough. Sailing season runs April to November, peaking in May to June and September. July to August is hot (32C+) and busy with charter yachts, so prices rise and the prettiest anchorages can be busy by midday.

Gocek: questions British travellers ask us
Is Gocek the right base for a Blue Cruise gulet holiday?
+
Yes — Gocek is the single best port to start a 3, 4 or 7-night gulet cruise on the Turkish Riviera. The 12 Islands are immediately offshore, the harbours are sheltered, and our partner gulets sleep 6 to 14 guests with English-speaking captain and chef. We can build a 3 night land + 4 night gulet split or a full week afloat.
Is Gocek good for families with children?
+
Gocek is quieter and more couples-orientated than family resorts like Olu Deniz or Icmeler, but it works very well for older families and multi-generation groups who plan to spend most days on a private boat. Younger children with a need for water-park hotels are usually better placed in Fethiye Calis or Marmaris.
Can we day-trip from Gocek to Olu Deniz and Saklikent?
+
Yes. Olu Deniz is a 40-minute drive south-east; we run a half-day private car with a swim at the Blue Lagoon and a paragliding watch from Babadag. Saklikent Gorge plus the Tlos Lycian ruins is a full-day private excursion at £140 per car.
How much does it cost to charter a gulet from Gocek?
+
Per-cabin shared cruises start at £620 per person for a 4-day Fethiye-Olympos route. Private 3-day Gocek-12 Islands gulets sleeping 6 guests start at £1,950. A full private week sleeping 12 guests with chef, captain and three crew on a luxury motor-yacht starts at £14,500. We work with TÜRSAB-licensed operators only.
Are there long sandy beaches around Gocek?
+
Not really — Gocek is a marina rather than a beach resort. The closest big sandy beach is Olu Deniz (40 minutes by car). Locally, the small beach club at Club Marina and the boutique beach at Yonca Lodge are calm pebble-and-jetty bays best for couples.
